Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Week
This week – 6th – 12th February – is Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Week. This is the UK’s national week to raise awareness of sexual abuse and violence. It also provides us and individuals with the opportunity to talk openly about experiences or support available.
Throughout the duration of this week, there are hundreds of events taking place online and in person all over the UK to promote healthy discussions with regards to sexual abuse and violence, as well as shining a spotlight on what some consider a very hidden subject.
If you are an organisation holding an event this week, please feel free to email [email protected] and we will help to promote any that are relevant to our audience in Nottingham, Mansfield, and Ashfield.
If you are an individual, please feel free to join in conversations on social media to share your experiences because we all now the power that a simple retweet or share can have, and you might just help someone in need.
If you need support for sexual abuse or sexual violence, please get in touch with the following organisations:
- NOTTS SVS Services – for survivors of sexual violence in Nottinghamshire
- SHE-UK – Nottinghamshire charity offering a holistic range of support services for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, exploitation, and sexual violence.
- Imara – An independent specialise service supporting children, young people and their safe family members following a disclosure or discovery of child sexual abuse.
